- Studies of student attitudes towards labs, both quantitative (surveys) and qualitative (video and interviews)
- Studies of student behaviors in lab, especially how lab framing can impact responsible (and irresponsible) conduct of research
- Studies of the impact of learning from hands-on activities compared with technology such as computer simulations and virtual reality (the role of embodied cognition)
